The luck runs rough around Theo Waitley. One of those ships is a blasted battleship seemingly fleeing a long-lost war. What’s more, its crew may be members of Theo’s ancient ancestral line—her relatives. It’s certain that they are in dire need of help. Theo has a choice to make. It seems that Bechimo’s “safe space” is about to become deadly perilous.

Agree with Stephen. Alliance of equals was great. It establish three story lines of which only Theo story line was advanced. The book also ended abruptly leaving the reader with a sense of disappointment. I would modify old expression in show business of "always leave them wanting more" to include "but don't leave them staving". I would rate this excellent if I could have bought the next book in the series immediately. Instead I guess I have to wait a year.
So if you like the series, buy the book but wait until the next one is available.
