nice but not greatThe author is a damn fine writer, but the story just doesn't "grab" the reader like the earlier ones in the series. There is little in the way of suspense - the one lot of Bad Guys are more sleazy than evil, and the foiling of them is done far too easily and in an off-hand manner. Lazy.
The world-building and social-system building are done expertly.
Fans of the series will probably like it well enough. Others, probably not so much.

I mean it's BujoldAnother exploration of the social aspects of advanced technology, in this case outliving her Love (drastically!) Return to the scene of first meeting Aral, after his death, for a new romance. It's a turn at inverse gothic romance (and aren't the Vor just great at gothic?). Quite clearly Cordelia gets a second lifetime. Also a setup of Miles's medical problems for a subsequent book, so I don't see this as the end of the series.

I wanted to know what happened after Aral(Miles's dad)died, and I know. And Miles finding out that there is life after death, a lot of life, was a pleasure. And his mother is such a intresting person

Out of steamIt seems like Bujold has run out of steam wrt. to the Vorkosigan saga. This felt like the end, a story to tie up loose ends after wars and deaths. The only drama is when one of main characters get stung by a swarm of the local lifeforms.

Product ReviewNot as adventure oriented as her usual fare, this entry into the Vorkosiverse was a politcal (barely) and social (primarily) romance, focused (such as it is) around growing older and recovering from loss. Most of the frisson comes from the view into the heads of the leads and the personal decisions they must make, with real, but smaller-than-normal consequences given the usual dramas.
