but Everything You Thought You
Knew About Them is Wrong!
When freelance information specialist Jason Wood found that a suspected drug kingpin didn't appear on photographs, he decided to investigate, suspecting that the kingpin was actually a vampire. But things wouldn't turn out to be that simple, and he soon found he was in danger from the last person he would have suspected. Product ReviewNot sure if the author started out with the intention of writing a series of short stories involving the same characters or it just developed that way. However, as you get further along the stories do link up better as a whole and in general the novel does work. There are some interesting twists to the concepts of werewolves, vampires and other mythological creatures. The biggest problem with the novel is not that it is a series of short stories but that these stories are really just an introduction to the world, the main characters and the overall concepts and basically just set the stage. Hopefully, there a more full novel in the works that will take advantage of this. One thing that can be a bit annoying to me though is when characters give lengthy speeches or discussions simply to provide background or setting information. This is not normal discourse and always comes across as clumsy. The fact that the process is repeated early on with basically the same facts is also a slight problem. Overall the novel is a fun and quick read with characters that are intriguing but in need of development.

Product ReviewA very good book. I first started reading it as snippets, and got completely hooked. With and easy to shun disbelief, this fantasy set in our modern world is both action packed, and truly entertaining. Hope to see a sequel at some point. Written as almost a collection of shorter pieces, it comes together very nicely. Jason Wood is THE PI of paranormal. Ryk E. Spoor is a modern great. Tom Chism
