The Star Kingdom of Manticore and the Republic of Haven have been enemies for Honor Harrington's entire life, and she has paid a price for the victories she's achieved in that conflict. And now the unstoppable juggernaut of the mighty Solarian League is on a collision course with Manticore. The millions who have already died may have been only a foretaste of the billions of casualties just over the horizon, and Honor sees it coming.
She's prepared to do anything, risk anything, to stop it, and she has a plan that may finally bring an end to the Havenite Wars and give even the Solarian League pause. But there are things not even Honor knows about. There are forces in play, hidden enemies in motion, all converging on the Star Kingdom of Manticore to crush the very life out of it, and Honor's worst nightmares fall short of the oncoming reality.
But Manticore's enemies may not have thought of everything after all. Because if everything Honor Harrington loves is going down to destruction, it won't be going alone.

Product ReviewHaving read of Honor books, I found this one just as enjoyable as the previous. However these later books are different from the earlier installments, not better not worse just different. This book does manage to converge a couple of threads, which should help to focus the story, while other threads which were already there become more prominent.

Product ReviewIt did well in avoiding Kurtzitis. My only real complaint is that this series in the Honorverse is supposed to be in Honor's POV, at least in the great majority of cases. You have two other series to provide complimentary viewpoints with.

Product ReviewIt felt like a lot of redundant repetition was used to fill the book out. This story reads more like the first half of a whole book and the cliff-hanger was Obvious. I was left very disappointed by this book. More so since I never would have expected it after reading all his other books. And now we need to wait another year or more to read the other half of what would have been an excellent read in a single book.

Product ReviewIt ends the way I thought the previous book would end, but all the intervening story was a great read.
I wonder what title The Salamander will end up earning from The Republic? Well, what ADDITIONAL title...Posted on

Product Reviewgreat read the cliff hanger at the end leaves me wanting more and more can't wait for the next installment. the end of the Solarian League is to be preordained as the corruption that has ruled for so long finally kills it
