Griffin Barber Joins the Baen Team

For Immediate Release

Publisher Toni Weisskopf is pleased to welcome Griffin Barber to the Baen Books team, as of January 3, 2025.

Griffin Barber started writing science fiction and fantasy in 2008 while walking a beat as a patrol officer in San Francisco, a job from which he is now retired. He’s appeared at many conventions speaking about writing law enforcement for writers. Griffin credits many of his successes in the field to collaborations with great authors, including Ring of Fire author Eric Flint and Kacey Ezell, and penning stories in both Charles E. Gannon and John Ringo’s varied universes, and he looks forward to applying what he’s learned in a more direct editorial capacity.

Griffin has experience in traditional, small press, and indie publishing. His works include: 1636: Mission to the Mughals, 1637: The Peacock Throne, Second Chance Angel, Man-Eater, and many works of short fiction.

Griffin says, “I hope to be up to speed shortly, and in the storied Baen tradition, play some small role in bringing amazing speculative fiction to readers everywhere!”

“It's been a joy to work with Griffin as an author and a host of the Baen Free Radio Hour. We're delighted to bring him in on the editorial side as well, and as producer of the podcast," says Weisskopf.

Please continue to send submissions to Baen Books via the website.
