This story hearkens back to the very beginning of Eric Flint’s career as a writer, predating even his first novel published Baen Books (and found by me!), Mother of Demons. It’s part of a fantasy series that’s been part of Eric’s life for decades—and the first published work in this series was a winner of the Writers of the Future contest. Chris was over the moon that we got to publish the latest installment in this anthology, and so was I. In it, Eric lets fly with all the writing flourishes due his philosophical strangler “hero.”
