When Clan Korval knows your name. . .
Abandoned on a strange port by a scam gone bad, his license to pilot rescinded, and his pockets very much to let, Fer Gun pen'Uldra was teetering between trouble, more trouble, and bad trouble. Cornered in a cheap bar by a too-knowledgeable stranger with an unlikely offer, Fer Gun realized having no money and no license might be the least of his troubles. Clan Korval knew his name and that proposal was hard to refuse. . .

Too darn short and no real depth. I wish Baen would give some idea of the number of book pages. This a short story 10 chapters long. I would not have bought it for the price and lack of content if I had known. I can't recommend it.

A nice, little yarnNothing Earth or Liaden shattering. A story that needed to be told. Maybe it is time to re-read the series from the start...

A piece of the picture3.5 stars. A mystery man! As many questions as this answered about a particular person, it left me wanting to know more. That says something. I wanted to know more about Fer Gun -- what's he up to these days? (Prolly dead.) Given the growing relationship, the parting of ways felt wrong, but yet it was okay. Good scene with Tree. And with yo'Lanna, ter'Meulen, dea'Gauss, etc.
A four-star story. Three stars cuz typos interrupt the flow.Posted on
