This is why I read Sci-Fi. Broad-brush characterisation of both people and settings, allowing a ripping good yarn plenty of leeway to tear me away from mundane reality. How often is a bloke allowed to identify with a physically attractive heroine, without feeling foolish? This is not good bedtime reading - unless you want to complain about insomnia the next day, but it sure lets the evening rip by.
