BOLOS-ishNot the worst bolos story, but definitely the lower end of the spectrum. The first 40% of the book is bogged down with making you suffer as much is the human slaves of the alien invasion or suffering. Gets not too bad once the pace picks up, but Keith either dispensed with research, discounted what has gone before or failed to comprehend what he read. Once it gets moving it's not too bad and I suspect Keith is a pretty decent writer when he's working with his own ideas and material, but he seems to have missed the je ne cest qouis that makes bolos bolos and makes us fans.
Skip anything by Keith when it comes to bolos. You're not depriving yourself of anything.Posted on
