Sir Francis Walsingham, Queen Elizabeth's Secretary of State, was the greatest spymaster the world had ever seen. But when he asked Dr. Dee to summon a demon the result was unexpected, especially for his orphaned niece Lucy. Sir Francis' duty as her guardian was to find Lucy a suitably aristocratic husband, not to let her fight demons and witchcraft for the Queen's Secret Service. But his—and Lucy's—duty to protect Queen and country from enemies both natural and supernatural kept getting in the way. And so did all those demons . . .

Product ReviewFantastic! I read it the first time just after it was published and for the third time this week. I have been waiting for years now for a sequel! Hopefully there will be one eventually; much was implied in the ending and it seems to leave room for many more tales of the adventures of Lucy and her "inner demon".

Product ReviewGood read.
But the EPUB was bad(rating 2 out of 5); missing section breaks. The changes between plot lines are missing. A paragraph from sub-plot A is immediately followed by a sub-plot B paragraph. Sub plots are not mixed up, just there is no visual separation at all.Posted on

Product ReviewThis is a good alternate history where magic works. The religious issues from the "demon's" point of view are amusing as well. I would like more in the same universe. I would also like more by this author whether it is a sequel or not.
