This entire volume was Chris Woods’s idea, and a darn good one it was, too. I was upset I didn’t think of it myself, and very glad David Weber roped me in—Chris has been a dream to work with. Of course, Uncle Timmy would have been pleased about that—he was almost always one step ahead of me finding new authors that I would enjoy, and he delighted in uniting readers with authors and artists. I confess that while I was Facebook acquaintances with Chris and his lovely wife, Wendy, I hadn’t ever been exposed to his work. I’m very pleased that has been rectified thanks to this project, and pleased in turn to present this excellent story in his post-apocalypse Fallen World universe to you.
