Cleared for Professional Release:
“Excerpts from General
Jacob Huff’s Journal”

Christopher and Jaime DiNote

FMF Special Warfare University Press’s prepublication note: “The following are declassified excerpts from UNPF system Occupation Commander General Jacob Huff’s personal journal. Artifacts were predominantly transcribed from hard-copy notebooks, and where possible, sequenced in time with recovered audio and video. GEN Huff’s exact words have been preserved to the maximum extent possible. GEN Huff was wont to use an awkward mix of Grainne and Earth time references, which makes exact time and date stamps difficult to determine for many entries.

Journaling (21 January 210)

You journal with whatever you have on hand. It’ll be a mess, with lots of handwritten notes mixed in with typed and dictated entries—I’ll clean it up later. This is the one thing I don’t let anyone do for me. Keeping a journal has saved my career more than once, and probably will again. Besides, memoirs lead to book tours, and potentially insurance, if the UN government decides to blame me should operational complications arise.
