I grew up in a small farming town in Wisconsin, a rural culture straight out of a Ray Bradbury short story which had both charms and horrors for an imaginative young boy who wanted to be a writer. I like to say my childhood was a combination of Norman Rockwell and Norman Bates.
Drawing on all those experiences, I wrote a series of short stories loosely connected to the fictional small town of Tucker’s Grove, Wisconsin. I remember spending a lot of time walking along the railroad tracks, looking at discarded junk along the siding, letting my imagination wander. This story is about a demon-possessed train.…
