Another story unabashedly influenced by Jules Verne. After the publication of my novel Captain Nemo, I was invited to contribute a new story to The Mammoth Book of New Jules Verne Adventures. I decided to try an interesting epistolary take on Inspector Fix, the villain from Around the World in Eighty Days. I worked with my friend and occasional coauthor, Sarah A. Hoyt. (She and I just published a new alternate history novel, Uncharted: Lewis and Clark in Arcane America.)
