As with Grand Central Arena, I must first dedicate Spheres of Influence to E.E. “Doc” Smith, who gave me the sense of wonder I try to convey to others in these novels.
In addition, Spheres of Influence is dedicated to all the adventurers, creators, and performers whose visions have inspired The Arena and its inhabitants—to James Schmitz, Howard Tayler, Akira Toriyama, Lee Majors, Isaac Asimov, Joseph Michael Straczynski, Kazuya Minekura, Thor Heyerdahl, A.E. Van Vogt, Hiromu Arakawa, Pete Abrams, Andre Norton, C.S. Friedman, and the literally hundreds of others who offered up their dreams to ignite imagination, brilliant sparks that I now, in my own way, attempt to pass on.
