—the Finest Trilogy of
Epic Fantasy in a Decade
Paksenarrion, a simple sheepfarmer's daughter, yearns for a life of adventure and glory, such as was known to heroes in songs and story. At age seventeen she runs away from home to join a mercenary company and begins her epic life . . . Book One: Paks is trained as a mercenary, blooded, and introduced to the life of a soldier . . . and to the followers of Gird, the soldier's god. Book Two: Paks leaves the Duke's company to follow the path of Gird alone—and on her lonely quests encounters the other sentient races of her world. Book Three: Paks the warrior must learn to live with Paks the human. She undertakes a holy quest for a lost elven prince that brings the gods' wrath down on her and tests her very limits.

worth many re-readsI read & re-read this so many times that the paperback fell apart. So I bought it as 3 separate paperbacks.
Now I am buying the hardback for permanence in my small selection of special books that are worth re-reading again and again.
As a life-long reader of Science Fiction & occasional science fantasy, I've read & enjoyed a huge number of books. Yet only a small fraction were still good years later - so often I wondered why I had liked it the first time. Those special books that can be re-read with delight every year or two are an even tinier fraction. This is one of them.Posted on

Product ReviewReading Sheepfarmer's Daughter -- the first of the three great books included here -- was a very similar experience to when I first read Tolkien's Hobbit back in 1962. Here's a great read that will stay with you a long time.

Product ReviewThis was the book that turned me on to reading fantasies. While the female protagonist had a lot to do with it, the author simply told a compelling story.

Product ReviewFantasy is exploring new words. We each perceive these worlds as we do around us; except we are allowed to be as new as the world to which we have been invited. I am honored to visit and learn.
