Foolishly read this in the hopes it would be better even after I hated "One Day on Mars". I liked Warp Speed and Quantum Connection. They had good science, good plot and good character development. This is just drivel. Terrible science. No exposition. Poor development of both character and universe. Just a lot of "guns, guns, guns" and "Fox 3!". Baen did Taylor a huge favor to publish this. Makes me believe that Warp Speed and Quantum Connection were ghost written or at least had an un-credited writing partner.

Overall this series is very different from most other sci-fi. The space battles are similar to other stories along with the tech, but the plot is different. It also makes you think about which side you'd be on, although you are guided to a side it's easy to see where you might not side on the protaganist's side.

Too many boring fight scenes. Love fight scenes hate boring fight scenes. Only one character developed in the whole book and its Joe Buckley. WTF

Interesting in concept, but flawed in execution. I am not a writer, but I am an avid reader.
The problem in execution is that the story is disjointed and hard to follow. There are far too many acronyms to allow ease of reading and it is very hard to follow conversations. There is plenty of action but the action scenes are so described as to be hard to follow.
