"PURE SCIENCE FICTION . . . ARTHUR CLARKE, MOVE OVER."
-Isaac Asimov

Inherit the Stars:
When they found the corpse in a grave on the Moon, wearing a spacesuit of unfamiliar design, his identity was a complete mystery. Analysis showed that the deceased was 50,000 years old-meaning that he had somehow died on the Moon before the human race even existed.

The Gentle Giants of Ganymede:
On another moon, Jupiter's Ganymede, still another mystery: a wrecked spaceship, which had been there for millennia, and was obviously designed for beings larger than the humans of Earth. The mystery seemed insoluble until another ship, manned by the same humanoid giants arrived, and were very surprised to find humans inhabiting their Solar System. . . .

Contains the first two books in the Giants series. The first book reads more like a mystery story, jumping from solution to solution as new facts are uncovered. Story mostly takes place via conversations in offices and labs. Not many interesting places, but very interesting conversations that will have you jamming the next page button in a rush to find out the next revelation. The 2nd book, also has some of this, but a lot better formed over all. More character interaction, more interesting places, and more adventure than the first. Some moments in the 2nd book made me feel emotion, which is rare for a hard sf novel. Great read, some long scientific jargon parts in the first make it seem award at first, but stick with it. Must read.

Very 'idea' driven stories, focusing on mystery and discovery. If interesting conversations can serve you as action scenes, you'll enjoy The Two Moons.

Have all the Giants books in hardcopy, they are all very much worth reading and got me past being stuck on Heinlein. Charmingly anachronistic, which means I'm old because when I first read them they were contemporary.
