Frank is an Army Special Forces veteran who screwed up, went to prison, and is now out, trying to go straight. He’s traveling through Southeastern Utah, enjoying the miles and miles of red-rock desert and wilderness when a man is murdered where nobody is supposed to see.

Except Frank does see.

He could turn his back, but turning isn’t in Frank’s nature. Not when the murderous crew begins to hunt him. Not when the sheriff seems to be helping them. And especially not when he discovers the plot is far bigger than he could have imagined, a plot of awful intent.

Another fast-moving, action-packed, roller-coaster of suspense from John D. Brown. Fans of Lee Child, Robert Crais, and Burn Notice will be delighted by the action, characters, and high-stakes twists.

I liked it. No idea why the e-book price is so low. A fine full length sequel to 'Bad Penny' well worth the fee

"Bad Penny" was good enough to justfy getting this one. The sequel is better.
It was easy to visualize the protagonist as a young James Gardner. If you've seen the Rockford Files, you'll know why, an action-adventure story told with humor, about an ex-con that normally doesn't carry a gun. If the author writes another story about Frank and the female sheriff, I'll read it.
Why not 5 star rating? Its not as good as David Drake's humorous stories. Maybe the next one.

This is a sequel to bad penny.
Great action, enjoyable characters, and good plot.
John Brown is a promising author. His writing style has greatly improved since he wrote his fantasy trilogy. Even if you couldn't get into that, this book should grab your attention.
