a very good book glad to see it back in print. one of my favorites from when i was a kid. I believe the original was called Fire hunter, as David Drake is getting credit as a co author I'm hoping he polished it up without losing the flavor of the original. Going to wait to see the end before i decide if i will upgrade this to a 5* because although the original was very good and I re read it often as a child I have since read enough to know that it was not the top of its kind. wish the ratings would allow a 4.5 rating . Sorry I almost forgot to say why i liked it. this is a story about a Edison of the stone age. he doesn't get it right every time but his persistence helps him through. unlike Edison who could try a hundred times though, in this world one wrong choice can be the difference in life or death. go with him on his journey where he refuses to accept that good enough for survival is enough when he can SEE that there is a better way.... if he can just survive until he does get it right.
