Product ReviewThis is a great book. Bujold keeps developing the Miles character, who keeps learning from his mistakes and growing. The romatic blot is a hoot, Miles trying to cope with falling in love. The adventure part almost or maybe is a subplot to the romance. There is an omnibus, "Miles In Love" on this site that includes this novel, it's sequel (5-stars) and a short story that almost an epilog to the first to series. The Omnibus is a great way to read these as I don't think the final short story is available anywhere else and you don't want to miss it.

Product ReviewThis book can be read as a first book in the series. Miles is introduced into this story from the perspective of the other main character, Ekaterin, meeting him for the first time. Some of Miles's previous exploits (9 books) are alluded to in this story, and may serve to heighten ones interest in reading the earlier books. For those who have read the earlier books this is an even better read, as Miles is Miles at his best. :-)
