Zombies are real. And we made them. Are you prepared for the zombie apocalypse? The Smith family is, with the help of a few marines.
When an airborne “zombie” plague is released, bringing civilization to a grinding halt, the Smith family, Steven, Stacey, Sophia and Faith, take to the Atlantic to avoid the chaos. The plan is to find a safe haven from the anarchy of infected humanity. What they discover, instead, is a sea composed of the tears of survivors and a passion for bringing hope.
For is up to the Smiths and a small band of Marines to somehow create the refuge that survivors seek in a world of darkness and terror. Now with every continent a holocaust and every ship an abattoir, life is lived beneath a graveyard sky.

Product ReviewJohn is always an enjoyable read. I was very hesitant to read a zombie book, that genre seems played out. It was pretty much the way I would have expected. Am a little disappointed in the ending (thought my nook broke, kept trying to get to the next page). My biggest worry is how he will keep up all of his series. He only has so much time and a new series just seems like too much.

Product ReviewHaving read some of the previous comments, I thought I would put my 2 cents worth in. This is a good read. It's not high art. It's not the Maple Syrup War (Live Free or Die), but it's good. Sure you could draw Cally & Michelle parallels or Mike Harmon / O'Neal parallels, but hey, it's interesting and fun. I wish it were longer too; that's probably my main complaint. Guess I have to wait for the sequel.

Product ReviewAs I have said in a previous review, I consider my self a "fan boy", but again I am disappointed. New premise, but filled with a VERY familiar cast of characters: Spec Ops bad @ss, check! Young daughter who just happens to be a hottie who can kick everyone's @ss, check! Loving and supportive wife who is an engineer and keeps the ship running, check! Other daughter who is not as kick @ss and more studious, but can still kick your @ss, check!
An ending that felt like John was running over his deadline and just sent it to the publisher, check!
The book is still a decent read if you like John's books, with enjoyable action and science that feels solid, but with repetitive characters and a truly crappy ending, well I was less than impressed. John can and has done better. This is the last time I will pay for an E-ARC of his. I just hope he can find his a-game again because this was not it.Posted on
