Product ReviewI read this long ago, in paper, which is probably somewhere in a box. About 10 years ago I was suddenly paralyzed and left with SS Disability after my wife ran thru my savings before divorcing me. Suddenly reading was easier with the computer, and I discovered Baen's free library. Then when free membership was offered to disabled persons [thank you, Jim Baen!] I signed up immediately.
I cut this book down because of the ending, or lack thereof. "Janissaries" had closure--it wasn't obviously part of a series, but this? I thought the file was damaged, and the rest of the book was missing. I even downloaded a second, unZIPped copy to check. I don't remember the paper text--did it end this way? It's like the authors stopped for a beer, then forgot what they were doing, or lost the last pages of the book. At 900+ pages it's long, even for two books [though it doesn't seem that long], but there so many things [most of the Confederation politics, for instance] that could have been omitted, since it was left hanging. The book is good, worth a 5* If it just had closure. It's not even as if they intended to write another book. It just stops.I'm surprised it wasn't in the middle of a word.Posted on

Product ReviewThis is Clan and Crown, and Storms of Victory - since I lost my paper copies long ago, it was good to get them in e-book. A classic ISOT and "how to build a world" story. A lot of people have tried to do this same formula since, and not done it as well.

Product ReviewFantastic Story!! Be sure to read Janissaries, the first novel in the series. Only problem I had, was that he never continued the saga. Shame. GREAT READ!!!
