Prometheus - CoverNOT A GOOD DAY FOR A WAR . . .

Dreams are fragile, even when the dreamers are tough. Justin Bell had shown the stuff he was made of by surviving two trials by fire, shedding several illusions, and becoming more tough-minded in the process while still holding to his dream of reaching for the stars.

Unfortunately, the beckoning stars were turning out to be more sinister than expected. Contact had been made with extraterrestrials, and the only thing definitely known about them was that the visitors were not friendly. And this was the worst possible time for hostile visitors, with the colonists demanding more freedom than the paternalistic Earth government was willing to grant. So far, Mars had declared its independence, and other colonies were threatening to follow suit. Interplanetary war threatened, and it might be that the hostile aliens would only have to stand by and watch humankind destroy itself.

Justin had already demonstrated that he had the stuff of heroes. But the situation that was brewing would make his previous experiences look like a dress rehearsal. If Justin could deflect the coming firestorm of war and solve the secret of the invading aliens, he would be enshrined in the history books. If he failed, there wouldn't be anybody left to write any history books. . .
